Box 15’s Milan Pop up socket is popular, but the biggest single question we receive from prospective buyers or buyers is how to get your hands on a 124mm hole saw to create the hole for the pop up socket to fit in?

Fitting the actual Milan pop up socket itself is easy. You can read more about the pop-up socket fitting process in our blog ‘How to fit a pop-up socket’.  However, 124mm isn’t a standard hole saw size, so finding a hole saw and arbor set to purchase that is the right size can be a little tricky.

How does hole saw hire work?

1. Hire the hole saw and arbor hire item on our website. We list them together to make things as easy as possible. The easiest way to find it is to simply use the Search function and search Hole saw and arbor. You’ll know it’s the right one as it says ‘FOR HIRE /70% refunded on return’ beneath the description.
2. Pay the standard rate for the hole saw and arbour at checkout.
3. We’ll send it out to you by post or courier as we would if you were buying the hole saw.
4. Use the hole saw – there’s no deadline or timescale on this, but please be mindful that we only have a few and with the popularity of our Milan pop-up sockets, these are in demand.
5. Once you’re finished with the hired hole saw and arbour, simply give us a call and we’ll email a pre-paid UPS label to you.
6. Package up the hole saw and arbour and add the label.
7. Then call UPS on the number on the label to agree a convenient time for them to collect the hole saw.
8. Once we receive it, we’ll inspect the hole saw and arbour to check for damage beyond standard wear and tear. We’ll look to see whether it’s been used to cut materials it’s not intended for (such as Corian or Grantie).
9. Once we’ve checked over the hole saw and arbor and agreed that, aside from standard wear and tear, it’s in good condition, we’ll refund the deposit element, which is 70% of the original net unit cost to the payment method you made the original payment to.
