Why choose modular cable management?

Modular cable management is a clever solution to a common problem. No two offices are the same – they may have the same room shape or number of desks, but even those that may seem to be identically laid out will use devices differently. This is where modular cable management systems come into their own.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 places a legal obligation on businesses to ensure the health and safety of employees and visitors to their premises. A key element of this regulation is to protect staff and visitors from trip hazards and electrocution risk. This may sound easy, but today, the office environment is more challenging than ever before. BYOD policies, mobile phones and laptops plugged in and subsequently removed throughout the day make cables difficult to manage.

Modular cable management enables cables to be channelled to where they need to be, and protected effectively, whatever the layout or cable requirements of each office space.

What is KUBA modular cable management?

The KUBA modular cable management system is a fully dynamic cable management system that can be tailored to meet the needs of each office.

The KUBA system is made up of links that can be added or removed to add length and coverage or reduce it, as required.

The system uses:

  • Cable spines to protect lengths of cable,
  • Brackets to hold the cable spines in place,
  • Cable grommets and ports to allow convenient access to the power and data sources, and
  • Floor spines to deliver extra protection to those cables that run along the floor, and to further reduce the likelihood that they will cause slips or trips.

Cable spines

Cable spines can vary according to the number of cables you wish to accommodate, with different types of spines containing different numbers of cable cavities. The rigid plastic spine protects the cables from becoming entangled, twisted or damaged, allowing cables to run freely up to the underside of the desk. Because the spines are fully adaptable, they can be used for desks and tables of all heights. The unique cellular structure of the KUBA cable management system makes it a really good solution for sit-stand desks where cables need additional length to meet the height demands of the desk when it’s both at its highest and at its lowest.

These spines can be attached to the underside of the desk with magnetic connectors.

Brackets

The KUBA brackets are fitted to the underside of the desktop to secure the cables and avoid them becoming loose and getting trapped or tangled.

Cable grommets or ports

KUBA cable management system cable grommets can be easily installed to allow convenient access to power or data cables or sockets. These are usually quickly and easily fitted into the desk itself, enabling access to the cables stowed safely beneath the desk.

Floor spines

Floor spines for the KUBA Cable Management System have angled sides to reduce the risk of trips on cables and at the same time offer your power and data cables protection.

The KUBA modular cable management system is perfect for phone charger cables and PC cables, lamps, printers, scanners, electric desks, and all other office electrical devices used within an office environment.
