1. Is the top chrome or metal painted with a chrome paint? 2. Can the unit be returned to its undertop housing with items still plugged in?
Thank you for your questions. 1. The Top is a solid zamak (metal) alloy, in either a Bright Chrome or Matt Finish. The finishes are a quality solid finish, so not painted! 2. Due to the flush fitting design of the Milan Range the unit cannot be fully retracted with items still plugged in. If you want to be able to use a socket in a stowed away position, then we also sell the 'Pod' series, which would satisfy this criteria, although it's not a genuine 'pop up' and it also doesn't fit flush to the worktop, like the Milan series. I hope that helps, If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us again. Many thanks, The BPF Web Team
Are the data ports CAT5/5e or CAT6? Your Popup with the LED and data says CAT6, but this says CAT5. I am looking for CAT6 only please. Which of your products are CAT6? Many thanks
Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. The LED & USB sockets are the newest to the range and they all come with CAT6 as standard. The non LED & USB ones used to be CAT5 but are now being made with CAT6 instead therefore at the time of writing some of the older units in stock still have CAT5 and the newest batches of stock are CAT6. We are going to update the website when these have all been replaced by CAT6. If you know which configuration you are interested in and its non LED call through to the office and we can check we have a CAT6 option in stock. Kind Regards, The BPF Websales Team
can the milan pop up sockets be partly retracted when in use? if so, how high off the work surface does it remain with sockets in use?
Hello, The Milan units are not really designed to be partly retracted as when the unit is fully drawn into position, that triggers a locking feature which keeps the unit in place. That's not to say you couldn't use it in a lower position, but the unit would be susceptible to being accidentally moved due to the fact that this locking feature wouldn't have been triggered. At the end of the day, the sliding mechanism that allows these units to rise up and down, is designed to be smooth and capable of being easily moved with only one hand, so any pressure on it would probably result in it sliding (if not fully extended). We do have a range of sockets called 'Pod' which can actually be used in the fully retracted position, just in case this is something you want to consider? Hope that helps! BPF WebSales
